The Baxter Village trail system is a 9-mile network of natural surface trails with occasional segments of mowed grass in the Baxter Village community. The trails winds through wooded areas and through small residential streets within Baxter Village. Baxter Village has a MAP of all of their trails throughout the neighborhood.
The Carolina Thread Trail 3.3-mile segment is part of a Baxter Village network. There are Carolina Thread Trail markers on multiple large trees help to guide hikers and bikers for the entire length of this trail. This is very helpful because this individual segment of trail is part of a larger network of trails within Baxter Village. Small hills are found throughout the trail. Several small streams flow near the the trail as well. The surface of much of the trail is sandy, but it is relatively compacted which makes for a great ride or hike.
A main highlight is a beautiful observation deck overlooking the Catawba River. From this deck, visitors can view a variety of water fowl that frequent this section of the river.
An Imprint is an Impact. Please protect the trails. Don’t ride if the ground is muddy and be mindful when you hike in wet conditions.
