The Carolina Thread Trail weaves through a portion of the numerous trails available in Cane Creek Park. There are MAPS also available at entrance office and to assist in navigating the numerous trails. "Cane Creek Park is a family-oriented, water-based recreation space that encompasses 1,050 acres of land surrounding a 350-acre lake. The park provides a natural and scenic environment for a variety of outdoor activities and peaceful relaxation year-round. The lake is home to some of the best largemouth bass fishing in the state as well as bluegill, crappie and catfish." CANE CREEK PARK WEBSITE. In addition to fishing, putt putt golfing, biking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and horseback riding, Cane Creek Park has an amphitheater, disc golf, lake swimming area and a rock-climbing wall.
Adjacent to our section of the trail, Catawba Lands Conservancy protects a section of the park where Schweinitz's sunflowers grow, an endangered fall-blooming plant.
There is no park entrance fee from November 1- February 28. Ordinarily, there is a $4.00 car fee. Check the CANE CREEK PARK WEBSITE for rental fees and park office hours.
