Description

The Carl Spangler Trail connects the First Broad River Trail to the northern neighborhoods of downtown Shelby at Lee Street. The trail transitions from natural and gravel surfaces in a wooded area to a concrete sidepath (10 feet wide) at Grover Street, where a pedestrian crossing is marked. A swing overlooking an expansive bluff of the First Broad River provides a perfect spot for a rest. The First Broad River flows through the center of the Cleveland County, NC, and joins the Broad River about 2 miles north of the South Carolina boundary.
