Description

The Pinnacle Trail leads hikers to the highest point in Gaston County at 1,705 feet called King's Pinnacle. The hike is at times steep and strenuous but worth the panoramic views offered.

In addition to te spectacular views, "there are also rare plants on this summit. This is believed to be the southern limit of the Bear Oak. In 1991 Mountain High-bush Blueberry was discovered here. Previously it was believed that it did not occur below a 4000 foot elevation." Hiking the Carolina WEBSITE.

The Pinnacle Trail connects the Crowders Trail to the Ridgeline Trail but it, also, part of an overall trail system offered in the Crowders Mountain State Park.
