Description

This section of The Vine provides a safe, enjoyable 0.9-mile walk or ride between downtown and the businesses on Statesville Road. The trail runs through Holbrook Park, which features amenities including pickleball courts, tennis courts, a shelter, restrooms and playground. Along the greenway, users can access Huntersville Elementary School on Sherwood Drive, as well as the US Post Office on Commerce Center Drive. Also a sidewalk connection from the segment on Columbia Drive reaches the grocery and other stores at Huntersville Square Shopping Center. The Downtown Connector will eventually connect to a Mecklenburg County greenway that is being constructed under I-77 to Rosedale Nature and Dog Park, and thus to the existing Torrence Creek Greenway.
