The Waterford Trail is a 1.5-mile segment of the Carolina Thread Trail that starts at the kayak/canoe launch at River Park then follows the wooded trail to the public golf course on the Catawba River. The natural surface portion of the trail follows the Manchester Creek, a natural habitat for numerous animals.
The Waterford Golf Course, an 18 hole Championship course, and the Catawba River encircle the Waterford Trail. Combined with the Riverwalk: Piedmont Medical Center Trail and the River Trail, this is a 4.8-mile section that is enjoyed by hikers, bikers, dogs and families with strollers.
