Nature enthusiasts will delight in this trail that leads through a NC State Significant Natural Heritage Site, which is an area of special biodiversity importance identified by the NC Natural Heritage Program. The intent of the program is to protect habitat for rare plant and animal species.
This 2-mile natural surface trail is located on the Girl Scouts' Oak Springs Campus and is a beautiful place to hike or mountain bike. The Oak Springs Campus covers 673 acres and is a regional destination for Girl Scouts. The campus hosts camp activities and educational experiences for girls from Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union, and York Counties.
